Bathurst Heritage Trades Trail: 9/10 April 2022

Dozens of traditional heritage trades and craftspeople will be demonstrating their skills over the weekend at two heritage locations in Bathurst NSW. Celebrating over 200 years of rich history and paying homage to the trades and traditions that have helped shape the region. There will be an opportunity to rediscover all the rare and lost trades and crafts such as blacksmithing, saddlery, whip cracking, and making, glass artistry, lace making, tapestry, embroidery, carpentry and joinery, cigar box guitar making, violin making, and of course traditional dry stone walling with Stone of Arc. Come and see us as we weave a wall through the trees!

"Walling to me is wholly engaging. It’s my gym, my art class, my mindfulness session and my trip to the country all rolled into one. It requires time, precision and order, patience, resilience, and attention to detail. It connects the past with the future and delivers a beautiful, sustainable structure and unrivalled sense of pride and satisfaction".
